Orbetello Piano Competition

International piano competition that takes place in Orbetello in the first week of May. The competition is open to pianists from all over the world in the “Junior” category up to 21 years and in the “Master” category up to 36. The pianists compete for economic prizes, prize concerts and are evaluated by prestigious international juries. A high-level cultural initiative to experience the territory, and to bring the highest professionalism of the piano world to live the city and spread the name of Orbetello. The auditions are open to the public and there are also evening concerts during the week.

The International Piano Festival takes place in the interior from early July to mid-August and aims to enhance, through a quality cultural initiative, an area already rich in resources and beauty. Itinerant by nature, the festival brings spectators to live the concert-experience in ever-changing open-air places, from the ancient fortresses to the edge of the Orbetello lagoon, allowing them to enjoy different and spectacular historical, architectural and landscape scenarios, as a stage for established pianists from all over the world, as well as new proposals and emerging young people. Each event is a total work of art, where nature, environment, music, art and beauty come together for a spectacular evening “in the moonlight”. Concerts are often accompanied by tastings of the best local wines.
